I received an email this morning regarding used stamps. The writer enquired as to whether the school collected used stamps.

Yes we do and we pass them on to a charity for processing

Unfortunately, the Green Schools’ Committee decided that is was no longer possible to recycle batteries on the school premises. Their storage poses health and safety risks and they were not being collected as regularly as they had hoped. The actual combined weight of the batteries was unmanageable for teachers as well as pupils so it was decided to suspend the collection of old batteries until another solution could be found.

A lot of batteries are sold during the Christmas season so please dispose of them properly.

Ask at your local shopping centre for battery recycling facilities – many battery resellers offer the service.

Check our http://www.dublinwaste.ie to find out where your nearest drop-off point is located.
