4th Class Tour (Rang Ms Dolan)

Filed Under (Activities) by jmolloy7302 on 20-05-2008

Hi from Ms Dolan’s 4th class.

We just wanted to tell you all about our school tour, which was last Wednesday the 14th of May. 78 children and 8 adults headed off to Croke Park, in a gust of excitement. We arrived in Croke Park after 10 and were delighted to get to watch a short film called ‘A Sunday in September’. We then divided into two groups. One group went to see the stadium, while the other went to visit the museum. One of the highlights was the tour of the dressing rooms in Croker. From there we ran through the tunnel out to the side of the pitch amid roars, shouts and whistles. It gave us a really good idea of what it must be like for the players to run out on to the pitch on match day. The pitch and the stands looked even bigger in real life, especially from a height. We learned about the history of the stadium here. In the museum we read and heard lots of interesting information about the GAA and we had great craic in the interactive football/hurling section. We enjoyed a well deserved lunch before buying our souveneirs in the Elverys shop. From here we headed to Leisureplex and had a ball playing bowling, quazar and eating snacks. We arrived back to school at about half four, with sore throats after the sing-song on the bus. A great day was had by all! Some phrases used to describe the tour were “fun and exciting”, “best trip ever”, “animal X 10″ and “fantastic”.
