Please bring in your Christmas Stocking for the Vincent de Paul on Tuesday, December 1st 2009.

Make sure you have labelled your stocking with the age and if it is intended for a boy or a girl.

Pictures will be take and posted in the site gallery at the end of the week.

The Advent Wreath

Hope

1st candle is purple and is known as the candle of hope or prophecy. It represents the promise of Christ’s birth

Peace

2nd candle is purple and is a reminder of the peace God brings to us by forgiving our sins.

Joy

3rd candle is pink and it represents the joy of the shepherds on hearing the news of Christ’s birth and the joy that God brings into our everyday lives.

Love

4th candle is purple and it represents God’s love for us. He showed  His love for us by sending His Son’s to die on the cross to save us from our sins.

The Christ Candle

The white candle stands above the others at the wreath’s centre. The candle is lit for the first time at Vigil Mass on Christmas Eve. The white candle represents the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ and is lit everyday during the 12 days of Christmas.

Parent Teacher Meetings will take place next week at a time convenient to both parties. See note for details.

Parents wishing to meet teachers before school commences should contact the teacher in question to see if that arrangement is possible.

Parents are reminded to adhere to the appointment schedule in order to avoid a time conflict and to discourage overruns.

Each schedule will posted on the classroom door. Knock when your time arrives but do not enter the room until invited.

Where possible visit the learning support team following your main appointment otherwise make a separate arrangement.

Cars are not permitted in the school yard. Please use the public car park.

Non-parishioners please be aware that the public car park is automated to avoid rat-runs through the campus.

You must drive out the way you came in otherwise the barrier will block your exit.

The school will close at 13.30 (1.30 p.m.) on Friday, November 13th 2009 to facilitate the monthly staff meeting. Please note the later time.
